Patient Experience
The hospital itself is nice and calm, which helped because I hate medical buildings. The front desk lady saw I was confused about the forms and helped me fill them out. Even the nurse who took my vitals was really gentle and chatted about the rainy weather to distract me. By the time Dr. Molpen came in, I was a lot more relaxed than I usually am.
I'd been to a couple of clinics for this weird fatigue and stomach thing, and everyone just shrugged. Dr. Molpen actually sat and listened to the whole, messy story. She ordered a different set of tests that others hadn't thought of, and it turned out to be something pretty specific with my thyroid affecting my gut. She explained it all with a diagram on her notepad—no fancy jargon. Finally felt like someone connected the dots.
Had to get a small cyst removed. Honestly, I was nervous at first, but the whole thing was just... straightforward. Dr. Molpen talked me through each step before she did it, the local anesthetic worked fine, and it was over in what felt like ten minutes. Follow-up was quick, and the scar is barely there now. It was exactly what you hope a simple procedure will be.
What stuck with me was how Dr. Molpen talks to you. She doesn't rush. When I told her I was scared about a medication side effect, she didn't dismiss it. She put her pen down, looked at me, and said, 'Okay, let's talk about that fear. Is it this, or this?' She made me feel like a partner in the whole thing, not just a set of symptoms.
