Patient Experience
I've been seeing Dr. Dhilip Kumar for my diabetes and blood pressure for about eight years now, ever since he was at a smaller clinic. When he moved to Apollo Tondiarpet, I followed him. That's the thing—you find a doctor who listens, who remembers your history from last visit, and you stick with them. The hospital is bigger, so sometimes the wait is longer, but it's worth it for that consistency. He doesn't rush you, and he explains adjustments to my meds in a way that makes sense.
Our 6-year-old spiked a crazy high fever out of nowhere and was just listless. We rushed to Apollo and got Dr. Dhilip Kumar. I was a mess, honestly. He was so calm with my son, talking to him about school while he checked him, which helped him relax. He explained it was probably a nasty viral thing but laid out clear signs to watch for that meant we should come back immediately. He called the next day himself to check in. Seeing your kid that sick is terrifying, and having a doctor who gets that makes all the difference.
Had a bad stomach thing going on for days. Went to see Dr. Dhilip Kumar at Apollo Tondiarpet. He figured it out fast, gave me a prescription, and told me what to eat. Felt better in two days. Straightforward and got the job done.
So, I'd been putting off this general check-up for ages, you know how it is. Finally went to Apollo, parking was a nightmare that day. Dr. Dhilip Kumar walks in, and right away he's just... easy to talk to. We got through the usual stuff, but then I mentioned this occasional tightness in my chest I'd brushed off as stress. He stopped, asked a bunch more questions, and suggested we do an ECG just to be safe. It turned out fine, which was a huge relief, but what stuck with me was that he actually picked up on my offhand comment. He didn't have to do that. It felt like he was actually paying attention to me, not just the checklist.
