Patient Experience
My mother was admitted with severe abdominal pain. We were all scared. Dr. Mangla came to see her late in the evening, even after his rounds. He sat with us in the waiting area and drew a simple diagram on a notepad to explain what was happening with her gallbladder. He didn't rush. He answered every one of my brother's anxious questions. The surgery went smoothly, and he called me himself the next morning with an update before I could even get to the hospital. That meant a lot.
Took my father to Sarvodaya. Parking was a hassle, had to circle for a while. Once inside, we saw Dr. Mangla. He was direct. Said my dad's hernia needed fixing and laid out the options clearly: surgery now or manage it, with the pros and cons of each. No sugarcoating, which we appreciated. He made sure we understood the recovery process. The staff on his team were good. Dad's back home now, doing his walks. Good experience.
Our little one had a bad scare, swallowed a small toy. The ER sent us to Dr. Vishal Mangla. He has such a calm way about him. He spoke so softly to my crying son, and to us, explaining exactly what they would do to check. He waited for us to nod that we understood before moving ahead. It was a long night, but he checked in personally multiple times, even when the scan was clear, just to reassure us. We felt looked after.
Honestly, I was a mess when my wife needed her appendix out. It was sudden. Dr. Mangla? Total rockstar. He walked in, assessed her, and said 'We're doing this now, she'll be fine' with such confidence it cut right through my panic. He high-fived my wife before they wheeled her in, which made her laugh. The whole thing was over so fast. When he came out to say it went perfectly, I think I hugged him. Sorry, doc! Just so relieved. She's already complaining about the hospital food, so she's back to normal.
