Patient Experience
I'd been sick for months, losing weight, and no one could figure out why. Dr. Puri didn't just run the usual tests. He actually listened to the whole history, even the bits I thought were irrelevant, and ordered a specific scan. It turned out to be something quite rare. He explained it all with a whiteboard in his office, which made a scary situation feel manageable. I'm finally on the right treatment because he dug deeper.
Needed a colonoscopy and was pretty nervous about the whole thing. The prep was no fun, but the day itself was straightforward. Dr. Puri's team at Medanta had everything organized. The procedure itself was quick, and I remember waking up feeling fine, just a bit groggy. Dr. Puri came by after, showed me a couple of pictures, said everything looked clear, and that was that. It was a relief to have it done and over with so smoothly.
The hospital itself is huge, and I got a bit lost finding the gastroenterology wing. Once I got there, though, the staff at the front desk were really kind about it. The nurse who took my vitals had a calming way about her, and even the person who brought the tea after my consultation was polite. It's a busy place, but the people working there made it feel less impersonal. That counts for a lot when you're not feeling well.
What I'll remember most is how Dr. Puri talked to my elderly father. Dad was confused and kept asking the same questions. Dr. Puri never got impatient. He just repeated the answers in a calm, clear voice, sometimes rephrasing them. He looked at my dad, not just his file. You could tell he was seeing the person, not just the patient. That kind of respect is rare.
