Patient Experience
My 8-year-old son needed an emergency appendectomy. I was a complete wreck. Dr. Çam met us at Anadolu Medical Center, and the first thing she did was kneel down to talk to *him*, not just me. She explained everything to him in a way he could understand, even drew a little picture. She called me twice after the surgery, once from her personal phone late at night just to say he was sleeping peacefully. The scar is so small you can barely see it. I cried from relief.
I've never had surgery before and I was really scared. The whole idea freaked me out. Dr. Çam didn't rush me at all. She listened to all my worries, even the silly ones, and answered every question without making me feel stupid. She has this very calm, direct way of talking that just cuts through the panic. I went into the operating room feeling nervous, sure, but also like I was in really good hands. And I was.
Had a gallbladder removal with Dr. Çam. Parking at the hospital was a pain, but she was worth it. Straight shooter, no nonsense. Explained the procedure clearly, did the job, recovery was exactly as she said it would be. No complaints.
Last year, I noticed a lump. I put off dealing with it for months, just nervous. Finally saw Dr. Çam. She examined me, ordered the right tests without any drama, and when the results came back needing a procedure, she walked me through the whole plan. The day of, I remember waiting in pre-op, cold and jittery. She came in, adjusted the blanket, and said, 'We're just going to fix this now. Ready?' That simple question flipped a switch. The surgery went fine, follow-ups were thorough, and now it's just a chapter I'm glad is closed. She handled it all with a quiet confidence that made me feel safe.
