Patient Experience
My hands were shaking in the waiting room at Manipal. It was my first time seeing a doctor for this stomach issue, and I was convinced it was something terrible. Dr. Karmakar walked in, and right away he just had this calm way about him. He listened to all my jumbled-up worries without interrupting. When he explained it was likely just a bad reaction to some new food, I actually felt the tightness in my chest loosen. He didn't rush me out, either. Just a really decent person who made a scary first visit okay.
Had a persistent cough for three weeks. Went to Manipal Hospital, saw Dr. Anirban Karmakar. He asked clear questions, checked me over, ordered an X-ray to rule out anything serious. Diagnosis was a post-viral thing. He prescribed medication, told me what to expect. Cough cleared up in a few days. Efficient, knew what he was doing. Parking at the hospital is always a hassle, though.
I was quite worried about my father's constant fatigue. Dr. Karmakar saw us at Manipal. He has a very gentle way of speaking. He examined my father so patiently and explained everything in simple terms we could understand, even drew a little diagram. He arranged the necessary tests and called us himself with the results to put our minds at ease. It was a stressful time, and his kindness meant a great deal to our family.
Finally! After months of this nagging joint pain and two other doctors who just shrugged, I saw Dr. Karmakar. He actually looked at my old reports, asked about my workout routine, and poked around my knee for a good ten minutes. Figured out it was a tendon issue from overtraining. Gave me a rehab plan instead of just more pills. I'm already feeling better. This guy actually listens and solves the problem. So glad I found him!
