Patient Experience
Had my gallbladder out at Manipal. The surgery itself is one thing, but the week after is the real challenge. Dr. Maity checked on me every day, even just for a few minutes, and really listened when I said the pain meds weren't cutting it. He adjusted things right away. It wasn't easy, but I never felt like I was just a chart at the end of the bed.
I was so scared going in for my stomach issues. First time seeing a specialist and my mind was racing. Dr. Maity just had this calm way about him. He explained everything in simple terms, drew a little diagram on his notepad, and said 'We'll figure this out together.' Left his office feeling like a weight was lifted. He's good with nervous people.
Look, I don't like doctors. Had to see one for a persistent cough. Dr. Kuntal Maity at Manipal. Straight shooter. No sugar-coating, no unnecessary tests. Said it was a bad post-viral thing, gave me a clear plan, told me what to watch for. Got better in a week. That's all you can ask for.
My story with Dr. Maity started in the ER with awful abdominal pain. He was the general surgeon on call. What stuck with me was after he ruled out the emergency stuff, he didn't just send me home. He sat down and said, 'The good news is you don't need surgery tonight. The bad news is we still don't know why you're in pain, and that's not good enough.' He scheduled follow-ups himself, called me with some lab results personally, and we finally got a diagnosis. It was a long road, but he stayed on it with me.
