Patient Experience
I'd been to a few doctors for this nagging abdominal pain, and everyone just said it was stress. Dr. Parasram was different. He actually sat and listened, asked questions about things no one else had, and ordered a specific scan others hadn't thought of. Turns out it was a rare type of hernia. It wasn't a quick fix, but he explained the whole thing clearly, drew diagrams on his notepad, and made a plan. I finally felt like someone had figured it out.
Had to get my gallbladder out. Honestly, I was pretty nervous at first, but Dr. Parasram made it sound so straightforward. The surgery itself was fine, no surprises. Recovery was exactly as he said it would bea bit sore for a few days, then better each week. The whole thing felt very routine for them, which in a good way made it less scary for me. Just a smooth process from consult to discharge.
The hospital itself is huge, and I got a bit lost finding the clinic. Parking was a nightmare that day. But once I got to Dr. Parasram's floor, his receptionist saw I was flustered and really helped me out. The nurse who took my vitals was also very kind, cracking a small joke to lighten the mood. It made waiting a bit for the doctor much easier. The place feels busy, but the people working there are calm and helpful.
What I remember most is how he talks to you. I'm not a medical person, and sometimes doctors make you feel silly for asking. Dr. Parasram never did that. He has this very calm, patient way of explaining things. When I was worried about some test results, he didn't just dismiss it; he went through each line with me in simple terms until I understood. You feel like a person in his room, not just another case.
