Patient Experience
At my age, you get used to doctors rushing you. Dr. Gundre was different. He listened to my old stories about my stomach trouble, didn't make me feel like a bother. The hospital was busy, but in his room, everything was calm. He explained things to my son as well, which I appreciated. I left feeling heard, and more importantly, feeling better.
Our 8-year-old, Rohan, had a high fever that wouldn't break for days. We were terrified. Dr. Gundre at Lilavati saw us quickly. He didn't just talk to us; he got down to Rohan's level, made a silly joke about his dinosaur t-shirt to get him to smile. He explained the infection in a way we could understand, never made us feel stupid for being worried parents. He called the next day himself to check on him. Rohan's fine now, and we finally slept through the night.
Had a weird pain in my side. Went to Dr. Gundre. He figured it out fast, got me the right scans. No fuss, clear instructions. Fixed me up. Good doctor.
I went to Lilavati for what I thought was just bad heartburn. The waiting area was packed, I was flipping through a magazine, nervous. Dr. Gundre called me in, and within minutes of talking and a quick exam, his demeanor changed slightly. He was calm but direct, saying the pain might be related to my heart and we shouldn't wait. He personally walked my file to the cardiology department. Turns out, it was a minor blockage. That initial call he made, taking my 'heartburn' seriously, might have saved me from a bigger problem down the line. I'm just glad he was the one I saw that day.
