Patient Experience
Honestly, I was terrified walking into Nanavati. Bone marrow transplant? It sounded huge. I’d read too much online and my hands were shaking in the waiting room. But Dr. Prasad… he just had this calm way of talking. He didn’t rush. He drew diagrams on a notepad for me, explained things in words I could actually understand, and somehow made this massive procedure feel like a series of manageable steps. I left his office still scared, sure, but for the first time, I felt like I could actually do this. He made me feel like a person, not just a patient.
Needed a BMT. Consulted Dr. Prasad at Nanavati. He was clear, direct, and gave me the facts without sugarcoating. Explained the risks, the process, the timeline. His team was efficient. The hospital parking is always a hassle, but the care was coordinated. He answered every question I had without any fluff. Got the transplant. Recovery was tough, but the plan was solid. I'm doing well now. Would recommend him for his straightforward approach.
It’s a quiet thing, going through something like this. Dr. Prasad has a gentle manner that suited me. He never spoke over me, always listened first. Even when I was too tired to form proper questions, he seemed to understand. There was one long afternoon in the hospital room where I just felt very low, and he sat for a few extra minutes just talking about ordinary things. It meant a lot. His skill is obvious, but it’s his kindness I’ll remember most. The nurses on his team are wonderful, too.
What a journey! From the initial diagnosis panic to now feeling like myself again. Dr. Prasad and his team are fantastic. He’s got this positive energy that’s contagious – even on the hard days, he’d find something to point to that was going right. The procedure itself went smoothly, and his follow-up is great. I bugged him with a million messages on the portal, and he or his assistant always got back to me fast. I’m back to walking my dog and feeling good. So glad we found him!
