Patient Experience
I'd been to a couple of doctors for this nagging fatigue and stomach issue, and everyone had a different theory. Honestly, I was getting a bit frustrated. Dr. Vikas Birla was different. He actually sat and listened to my whole history, asked questions no one else had, and ordered some specific tests. Turns out it was a tricky vitamin deficiency that was mimicking other problems. He explained it in a way that finally made sense. I'm just relieved someone figured it out.
Had to get a minor cyst removed. I was nervous at first, but Dr. Birla made the whole thing feel very straightforward. The procedure itself was quick, and he talked me through each step so I knew what was happening. Recovery was exactly as he said it would be—no surprises. It was one of those medical things you dread, but it ended up being a very smooth experience.
The parking at Apollo was full that day, so I was a bit flustered when I arrived. But from the front desk to the nurses in Dr. Birla's section, everyone was really calm and helpful. The place felt clean and organized, which helped settle my nerves. Even when there was a short wait, a nurse checked in to let me know the doctor was on his way. It's the little things that make a difference.
What I remember most is how Dr. Birla talked to my elderly mother. She gets confused easily and was scared. He didn't just talk to me; he knelt down to her eye level, spoke slowly, and checked that she understood. He has a quiet, patient way about him that puts you at ease. You can tell he sees the person, not just the chart.
