This page outlines the procedures and policies for requesting account deletion as required by Google Play and the Apple App Store.
1. How to Request Account Deletion
Users can initiate an account deletion request through the following methods:
- In-App Deletion: Open the Medifyr App, navigate to the Account screen, and select Delete Account. Follow the on-screen prompts to confirm your request.
- Email Request: You can send a formal deletion request from your registered email address to support@medifyr.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request". Please include your registered phone number for verification.
2. Types of Data We Delete
Upon a successful deletion request, the following information will be permanently removed from our active systems:
- Personal profile information (Name, Phone, Email, Address).
- User preferences and settings.
- Search history and discovery interactions.
- Lists of "Saved" or "Liked" doctors and hospitals.
- Authentication tokens and session data.
3. Data Retained for Regulatory Compliance
As a healthcare platform operating in India, Medifyr is subject to specific legal and regulatory obligations regarding medical records. Some data may be retained even after account deletion:
- Clinical Records: Consultation notes, prescriptions, and lab reports must be retained for a duration specified by the National Medical Commission (NMC) and related healthcare laws (typically up to 3–10 years).
- Billing & Financial Records: Information related to financial transactions will be kept for tax and audit purposes as per Indian financial regulations.
Retained clinical data will be archived and de-linked from active marketing and notification systems. It will only be accessed for legal, regulatory, or emergency medical purposes.
4. Processing Timeline
Once a request is initiated, we typically process the deletion within 7–14 business days. During this period, your account will be deactivated, and you will no longer receive communications from Medifyr.
