How to prepare
- Complete fasting (no food or drink) for 6-8 hours before the procedure as instructed.

Recovery & hospital stay
- Rest in the recovery area until the effects of sedation wear off (1-2 hours).
- Avoid eating or drinking for about 1-2 hours post-procedure until the gag reflex returns to prevent choking.
- Start with cool, soft foods and liquids; avoid hot, spicy, or crunchy foods for 24 hours.
- Refrain from driving, operating machinery, or making important decisions for the rest of the day.
- Expect some throat soreness or hoarseness; soothing lozenges or warm salt water gargles may help.
- Avoid strenuous activity for 24 hours. Contact your doctor immediately for severe pain, fever, difficulty breathing, or significant bleeding.
