Patient Experience
I was really scared about my kidney stone procedure. I’d never had surgery before and my hands were shaking in the waiting area. Dr. Amar Kumar came in, sat down, and just talked to me for a good ten minutes before we even discussed the scans. He drew little diagrams on a notepad. He didn’t rush. By the time he finished explaining, my heart wasn’t pounding anymore. The whole thing went smoothly, and when I woke up, the pain was gone. He checked on me himself the next morning. It meant a lot.
Had a prostate issue. Went to Kamineni. Saw Dr. R. Amar Kumar. He reviewed my history, ordered the necessary tests, and explained the treatment plan clearly. No fluff. The medication worked. Follow-up was efficient. Parking at the hospital is often a hassle, but the consultation itself was direct and effective. Problem solved.
My husband was under Dr. Kumar’s care for quite a serious bladder condition. I accompanied him for all the visits. The doctor has a very calm way about him. He listens so carefully, and he always remembers small details from our last conversation. Even when the news wasn’t easy, he delivered it with such kindness. We never felt like just another case. The nursing staff on his floor is wonderful, too. We are deeply grateful for his skill and his gentle manner.
Wow, what a difference! I’d been putting off dealing with my urinary issue for months because I was dreading it. Finally saw Dr. Amar Kumar. He diagnosed it quickly as something totally treatable. The relief I felt when he said that! The procedure itself was way easier than I’d built up in my head. He’s got a great sense of humor, which helped a ton. I walked out of that hospital feeling like a new person. Seriously, if you’re hesitating, just go see him. Best decision I made this year.
