Dr. Deshbandhu

My dad was admitted to Sarvodaya in Sector 8 with a bad fever and confusion. We were all scared. Dr. Deshbandhu was the one who actually sat us down in the family room and drew a diagram on a notepad to explain what was happening, in simple Hindi. He called my sister every evening with an update, even when things were stable. That meant more than any medicine.

I've been seeing Dr. Deshbandhu for my blood pressure and diabetes for almost ten years now, since he was at his old clinic. He remembers my history without always checking the file asks about my knee pain from last year, remembers I don't like a certain pill. At Sarvodaya, he's the same. You don't feel like just another chart. He's straight with me if my numbers are off, but he listens to why it might be happening. That kind of trust, you can't build overnight.

Had a weird rash that wouldn't go away. Went to Sarvodaya, got Dr. Deshbandhu. No fuss. He looked at it, asked a couple questions, told me what it was and what to do. Prescription worked. That's it. Good doctor.

I went in for what I thought was just a really bad stomach bug. The waiting area was packed, so I was there a while. Dr. Deshbandhu, though, didn't rush. He listened to me list my symptoms and then asked this one specific question about the pain's location I hadn't even thought to mention. He got suspicious it might be my appendix. Sent me for a scan right then, and he was right. He came to the emergency area himself to explain the surgery to me. The whole thing was stressful, but him connecting those dots so calmly is what caught it before it got really bad.
